Plan Before You Travel With Cremated Remains
Did you know that some countries require specific paperwork when travelling into the country with cremated remains?
If you are planning on travelling with cremated remains, share those plans with your funeral director, so they can ensure you have the appropriate paperwork for when you arrive at your destination. Some times customs may ask a family to provide more than a cremation certificate and a death certificate.
These are the times that you want to be “over prepared” rather than “under prepared”.
If you do not have the proper paperwork, you can have difficulties leaving the airport. They can even keep the urn and ask you to come back with the proper documentation (which can take days or even weeks to complete).
