Obituary of Yvonne Therese Dos Santos

Peacefully surrounded by love and her family, Yvonne passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, at the age of 72. Beloved wife for almost 54 years, of Clement. Loving mother of Debbie, Paul (Leann) and Charlene Dos Santos. Cherished Nana of Alyssa, Mariah, Katelyn and Scott. Yvonne will be dearly missed by her siblings; Vic (Paula), Clement (Maricel), Mary (Michel), David (Jane); and by her sisters in law; Marilyn (Angelo), Linda (Maurice) and Dolores. Aunt Yvonne will also be remembered by her nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Guyana, she met the love of her life there too. Clement and Yvonne started their family and moved to Canada in 1968. Rather than being apart, her siblings followed suit and all together they built a life here in Canada. For Yvonne, any place could be her residence, but wherever her family was, is where she considered herself to be “at home”. She was an active and healthy lady. Even in her retirement she enjoyed keeping busy by watching her grandchildren or spending quality time with her husband at the Casino. She even found some extra time to work in a pizzeria! She treasured every trinket or gift ever given to her by her loved ones. Now our family will forever treasure each memory of “Vonne”. In accordance with Yvonne’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, in Thornhill this weekend. Her family was her world, and in memory of Yvonne, please take a moment to tell your family members how much you love them.
