Obituary of Yolande Gascon
Yolande passed away on March 10th, 2024, at the age of 93 at Foyer Richelieu in Welland. Born on January 15, 1931, Yolande dedicated her life to serving others and nurturing her family. Yolande was preceded in death by her loving husband, Graham Loe, who remained dear to her heart even after his passing. Yolande's journey began in a family of 12 children where, as the oldest daughter, she helped her parents with the care of her sibling. André Gascon (Denise) is the last man standing. She shared many stories of growing up in Trois Riviere and the challenges and joys of growing up in a big family.Yolande married Réal Gagné, had 3 children; André, Johane, and Lyne, and became a widow at the age of 29. She taught her family many valuable lessons through her example, instilling in them the importance of hard work, perseverance, and kindness. She went back to school and chose a career in Nursing. Yolande was not only a dedicated nurse and mother but also a remarkably creative individual. She expressed her artistic talents through painting, sewing, and crafting handmade dolls. Her creativity brought beauty and joy into the lives of those around her, leaving an enduring legacy of artistic expression and imagination.
Yolande cherished her role as a grandmother to Benjamin, Sébastien, Sophie, Sonia, and Pierre-Luc. Their visits brought her joy and laughter, and she cherished the time spent with each of them. In addition to her grandchildren, Yolande was blessed with four great-grandchildren, Anabel, Laurent, Colton, and Arielle, whom she adored.
Yolande's passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends, but her memory will be cherished forever. A celebration of Yolande's life will be held at a later date, allowing her family to come together and honour her memory. The family wishes to thank the personnel of Foyer Richelieu for the excellent care they gave Yolande and for all the support they provided to the family during her stay, what an example they are in caregiving. We are grateful. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be donated to Foyer Richelieu in Welland, Ontario in lieu of flowers.

Tina et moi voulons exprimer nos sinceres condoléances envers vous tous. Le déces de tante Yolande va laisser un grand vide dans tous nos coeurs. Pour ma part, la mémoire de tous les appels téléphonique que j’ai eut avec elle, va etre une source de beau souvenirs et de joie. Tante Yolande a vecu une vie exemplaire et sa memoire va etre une source d’inspiration pour le reste de nos jours.
Nous allons tous s’ennuyer d’elle mais nous pouvons se consoller qu’elle a semé de l’amour partout ou elle a parcourru et elle est a un repos bien mérité.
