Obituary of William "Bill" Edward Raymond

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of William "Bill" Raymond on Monday, July 18, 2022 at the Douglas Memorial Hospital in Fort Erie, surrounded by his loving family. Bill led a strong battle for the past 6 months with determination, independence, humour. A man of pride until the end. Left to mourn his loss are his children, Dawn (Wally), Philip (Dawn), Bobbi, Andrea (Greg) and Patrick (Jaclyn), his grandchildren, Evie, Frankie, Destiny, Cheyenne, Landon, Gavin, Grady, Payton and Kensi, his great grandson Asher, his sisters Gina, Wilhelmina and Yvonne, his brother Ronnie (Lynn) as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Bill was reunited on the other side by the love of his life, wife Gerry (2013), his parents Wesley and Roberta, his brother Wes and his sister’s Collette and Jackie.

Bill was a lifelong resident of Fort Erie. He worked for Pratt and Lambert for over 30 years, moving on to Community Living before retiring. He loved to watch the horse races, socializing with friends at Big Texas and at the Legion (Branch 71) of which he was a member. Bill also spent time as a freemason, and played, then coached the Anglo American Hockey Team. He was looking forward to lacing up his skates and getting on the ice again.
In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). Bill's family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Scher and the Palliative Care Team at Douglas Memorial Hospital for their care and compassion. If desired, donations in memory of Bill may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at Douglas Memorial Hospital.

Thinking of you all at this difficult time. Loved reading about his past, sounds like he would have had lots of stories to share with his friends at the legion. I hope he got to lace up his skates again right away.
