Obituary of Valerie Gillis
Surrounded by love and support, Valerie passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019, with her daughters by her side. She will be greatly missed and forever remembered by her partner Steve Magnus, children; Tasha (Steve), Danica (Cameron), Mathieu (Michelle), and by her grandchildren; Margaret, Ella, Ethan, Elsa, Carl, Paige, and also by Mathieu and Michelle’s baby to be! She will be missed by her siblings, Kevin (Marie), Jim (Charlene), Christine (Jack), and by all her nieces and nephews who knew her as “Aunt Val”. Valerie was a great friend to many and was admired for her positive attitude and great sense of humor. Valerie was the life of the party in her younger years and always lit up the room when she walked in. We take solace in knowing that she is no longer suffering and is reunited with her parents Carl and Ella Gillis, her big brother Gene (Doreen), partner in crime (niece) Lori and sweet great-nephew Travis. We will love and miss her always and will honour her memory and spirit forever. Cremation has taken place and arrangements are entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905) 354-2133. A Celebration of Valerie's Life will be held at Cat’s Kitchen, 6788 Thorold Stone Road, Niagara Falls, on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 2-4pm. Memorial donations may be given to Hospice Niagara.Service Information

Tash, seeing all your love and determination you had given over the last few months of your moms life has been awe inspiring. You are such a strong woman and have your mom to thank for that quality. She fought hard and you fought hard to make sure her last days here on earth were the best you could’ve given. Your family was blessed to have her in your lives for the time that you did and now you need to keep her energy alive in you and your kids and family.
