Obituary of Terry Woiceshyn
On Friday, March 27, 2020, our hearts broke as our family said goodbye to a kind, selfless and devoted family man and friend. Terry passed away peacefully and surrounded by love, at the St. Catharines General Hospital, at the age of 72. A beloved husband and best friend for 33 years to his wife Cheryl. Forever loved by his daughters; Cathy (Stan), Lori (Gord), Jennifer (Josh) and step daughters; Kelly and Darlene. Proud Papa Wowo of Keith, Maggie, Michael, Sebastian and Spencer. Dear brother of Carol Dillon, Tim (Karen) Woiceshyn, Glenn (Jaana) Woiceshyn, Donna Woiceshyn, and Mark (Sandy) Woiceshyn. Special Uncle to Donald, Cheryl, Nathan, Paul, Leo, Kasper, Zach, Michaily, Christina, Anna, and great-uncle to Gabe, Noah, Khloe, Karter and Kyla. Also left missing Terry is his furry pal, Cujo. He was predeceased by his parents, Sophie and Paul Woiceshyn. Our world has lost a special man, who had a heart full of love and optimism. Terry had a natural ability to turn everything into a great time with an infectious smile and laugh. He was a lifelong resident of Thorold and grew up part of a big family. He connected with his neighbours and enjoyed getting together with his neighbourhood friends to play a good game of baseball. Terry was an energetic person, who loved going for runs with his brothers, watching and playing baseball, boxing and racing stock cars. Terry cherished the times spent working on his stock car, with his brother Tim. Even throughout his illness, nothing would hold Terry back from being active, dedicating time to his work, and enjoying life with his loved ones. Our family would like to acknowledge and share a special thank you to, Paramed; nurse Jan, PSW Amanda, Angela and Sunny, for always going above and beyond, to Dr. Gibney and Angela, for taking great care of Terry and our family through all of the years. Also, to Dr. Hotte and his team, for providing treatments and continuous support during Terry’s tremendous fight, and to the NHS- St. Catharines Site, for their compassionate care during his final days.
In accordance with Terry’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements are entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). A gathering and celebration of Terry’s life will be held at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society, to help find a cure, would be appreciated by the Woiceshyn family.
