Obituary of Terence Edward Hounsham

Peacefully, at the Niagara Health System’s Welland Site, on Tuesday, July 21, 2020, at the age 77. Dearly loved husband of Doreen Hounsham. Loving father of Wendy (Stephane) Hounsham of St. Catharines, Craig (Christa) Hounsham of Niagara Falls, and Neil (Kalina) Hounsham of Welland. The best Grandad ever to Julien, Arielle, Darwyn and Hudson. Terry will be missed by his surviving brother Stephen of Farnham, England and his nieces and nephews in the UK.

Terry grew up in the UK, joining the Royal Army Medical Core to train as a medical officer at the age of 20 and eventually immigrated to Canada where he was a paramedic and then a respiratory technologist. He settled in Welland, Ontario for his last two decades. He was known for being witty and playful. He was always ready with a joke.

The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Levesque and all the staff at Niagara Health System and Walker Family Cancer Centre for their dedication and support.

Arrangements are entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). Family and friends will be received at the Club Castropignano 1311 Egerter road, Port Robinson, Ontario on Saturday, July 25th from 2:00pm-4:00pm. In accordance with Ontario's provincial rules regarding COVID-19, attendance is limited to 30% of the facility’s capacity (appx. 100 people for Club Castropignano). Masks are mandatory and must be worn at all times while indoors.

Memorial donations to the Walker Family Cancer Centre are appreciated. Online condolences may be left at EssentialsNiagara.com

Terry had such a great sense of humour and was always making people laugh. We have attached a photo of Frank & Terry watching the band play at the park while having their snack. He will be forever in our loving memories. Lorraine & Frank xx

Many many great visits with Terry. Always the happy person. He was a funny man and could make you smile even on a low day. Loved by his family – that was evident. We will miss him. Anne and Ken
