Obituary of Sheila Jane Martin (née Lehan)

Passed away peacefully at the Greater Niagara General Hospital site at the age of 67, surrounded by the love of her family. Sheila is the beloved wife of Rick for 48 years, loving mother of David and Jennifer, cherished grandmother of Liam and Emma, dear sister of Judy (Eric), Audrey (Jeff), Dianne (Bill), Catharine (Vic), Colleen (Michael), Bobby (Mary), Nancy (John), Janet (Chris), and Donna, sister-in-law to Chuck and Will and aunt to Annika. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Sheila is predeceased by her parents Bill and Winnifred Lehan and her in-laws Fred and Ishbel.

Sheila was a proud member of the Niagara Falls Ladies Cribbage League for more than 35 years, a devoted fan of the Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Maple Leafs. Sheila loved all of her pet dogs. Family was everything to Sheila. She will be remembered for her kind heart and loving soul.

The family would like to thank the firefighters, paramedics and police officers whom responded to Sheila's call for help also the doctors and nurses at GNGH emergency department and Dr. Masood, Dr. Doyle and all of the ICU staff for their exceptional care given to Sheila during her journey.

In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no visitation. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. If desired, donations to a local animal shelter or a food bank in Sheila's memory would be appreciated by her family.
