Obituary of Robert (Rob) David West

Robert (Rob) David West, known fondly as "Doc" among his Niagara friends, peacefully departed this life on Thursday, March 14, 2024, with his loving family by his side. For almost 43 years, he was a wonderful husband to Janet West (née White) and a loving father to Kim Court (Dan), Sam West (Vikki Livingston), and Mike West. His grandchildren, Kendall (Nate), Kelsey, Taylor (Eric), Ethan, and Mhairi Raine, along with his great- granddaughter Clara, all held a special place in his heart; Rob's dear sister Susan West, Aunt Frances Mckenzie, sister-in-law Margaret Brooks, and family friend Stacey Daub mourn his passing. He will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Rob's zest for life was evident in his love for adventure. He cherished his Harley rides, camping trips, and travels, finding solace in the great outdoors. An avid sports enthusiast, Rob managed his boys' hockey teams in Peace River and was an avid fan of the Toronto Maple Leaf’s.

Rob was known for his exceptional skills in pool and card games, always playing by the rules. His quiet nature, his loyalty, honesty, and kind spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Throughout his career, primarily in Alberta's Rocky Mountain House and Peace River, Rob exemplified professionalism and dedication.

In keeping with Rob’s wishes, cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rob may be made to the Kidney Foundation, The Humane Society of Greater Niagara, or Canadian Diabetes Association and would be appreciated by his family.
