Obituary of Robert "Bobby" McKelvie

With profound sadness the family announces the passing of Robert Douglas McKelvie, known by many as Bobby or Scotty. The laughter ended Friday, March 8, 2024 surrounded by his loving family. The twinkle in his eyes faded; with the words "I love you" on his lips. We take great comfort in knowing he was guided to his next chapter by his parents, John and Elizabeth McKelvie (née Douglas), sister Rena and many other loved ones who have passed before him. Bobby was the devoted husband of 44 years to Roxanna McKelvie (née Glazebrook), loving father to Melissa (Rick) and Catherine, cherished Papa to Jakob, Dakota, Nolan, Kalem and Hayden, brother to Jim (the Late Lori), Mildred and Betty (the Late Bob). He will be sorely missed by all his family and friends, both here in Canada and abroad.

Bobby was born in Glasgow, Scotland and immigrated to Canada in 1966. The family made Canada their home but his heart remained in Scotland and with his beloved Glasgow Rangers FC. He lived for his grandchildren, they were his world and he was an avid sports fan. With his pure Scottish determination, Robert fought as hard as he could but his soul was ready for the next part of his journey.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of Bobby's life will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 4 (lower level) 383 Morningstar Avenue, Welland, ON from 5:00 p.m until 8:00 p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services in Welland. In lieu of flowers, please send out positive vibes to the universe for the Toronto Maple Leaf's to win the Cup! Cheer them on and have a drink in his honor. It's all he asked for.

Final word from my Dad.... "Stop your greeting!"

Sending sincere condolences to all of Bobby’s family. We emigrated to Canada the same year and were lucky enough to share many happy times with The Mckelvie Family. Laughter and singing were always a big part of such great times. I hope all your happy memories and love for each other brings you some comfort at this difficult time. Bobby is at peace now and he will always be with you, in your hearts. Rest in peace, Bobby. Love, Liz & Garry.
