Robert (Bob) passed away on May 2, 2023 at the age of 80. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Elizabeth (Betty), his son Paul (Julie), grandson Jake (Joanna), his nephews Joseph and Connor, niece Sarah, Terry Boda (Debbie), Irving (Irv) Cochrane (Enid) or as Bob called her Edith, and his family in Scotland and England. Bob will also be missed by his friends from the Saturday night group of AA, and Fr. Mirek, who provided great support with his visit and prayers.

He will be fondly remembered by his friends Hans, Robert McCallion (Eleanor), Leslie Reid (Janet), Derek Johnson (Catharine), Carmela Colangelo, Maria Shaw, William (Bill) Hannell, Lori Sokoloski (Rick), Sr. Jacquie Keefe, Br. Bill Carrothers and Nick Hominuk (Barbara). Bob was predeceased by his parents Martha and Pawel and his sister Joanne.

Bob loved his family, his garage, his pond and repairing lawn motors and any type of small machines.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Bob's palliative nurse Jade, the Welland Emergency Staff, Sixth floor nurses Lola, Grace, Jenn M., Rani, Merima, Roxanne, his PSWs and St. Elizabeth Health Services for their care and compassion shown to Bob and the family. The family would also like to express their gratitude to their neighbours Patti and Glen for their help and kindness during this difficult time. Special thanks to Dr. Louiza Van Der Walk for her wonderful care of Bob's health for many years, and the kindness she showed him. Thanks also to Rose City Pharmacy for the excellent service with Bob's medications.

In keeping with Bob's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private family graveside service will be held. The family requests no flowers. Instead, they ask that you do an act of kindness in Bob's memory.

Bob will be dearly missed by all who knew him, and his memory will be cherished forever.

RIP Bob or as I knew you best, Bobby. I’ve known you almost my whole life and you’ve always treated me with love and kindness and I always felt part of your family. I will remember my visits to Welland and sharing a cup of coffee or two in your garage, which was your second home. Your laugh and sense of humour were second to none. You will be missed by all that were fortunate to have had the privilege of calling you a friend. May God rest your soul
