Obituary of Mary Margaret Gibbons
Our beautiful mother Mary passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at the Meadows of Dorchester. She will be greatly missed by her children Paula (Lee), Dave (Becky), Bill (Sue), Tim (Bonnie Dec 2020), and Lori (Dave). She was Grandma to Zach and Joy, Rory and Will, Alice, Brian and Heather, Jim and Brett, and Great Grandma to six little ones.Mary was born in Niagara Falls to Scottish immigrants Tom and Isa McGregor along with siblings Maidie, Donnie and Issie. She attended NFCVI where she was a star student, and shortly after married her high school sweetheart Bruce. Then it was six kids, cats and dogs, and lots of fun and friends and wonderful neighbours on Burdette Drive for many years. Along with raising her kids, Mary worked at the Niagara Falls Museum where she was gatekeeper to The World’s Great Treasures.
Sadly her second son Brian died in 1974, and Bruce in 2003 after a long illness. She moved to Meadows two years later. Most of all, Mary was the world’s best mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother. She taught all her children by example how to be good parents and left all her grandchildren with wonderful memories.
We will be forever grateful to her family at the Meadows of Dorchester who kept her safe in 2020 and showered her with love and compassion at the end of her life. May she rest in peace free of pain.
Arrangements have been entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). Cremation has taken place and celebration of Mary's life and an interment at Fairview Cemetery will take place at a later date. If you wish, donations to the Humane Society or an animal charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Lori and family, so sorry to hear about your mom’s passing. Many fond memories up at Horseshoe Lake and at aunt Bobbie and uncle Donald’s. Thinking of you,

On behalf of Lois and the McCabe clan we send our deepest sympathy to the Gibbons Family. In our childhood days growing up on Burdette Drive we always knew Mary would be there for us if needed. I remember a story my Mom told of Mary helping her gather and return pop bottles to the store to make a mortgage payment during a lean time. Mary was a kind and caring neighbour and friend. Peace be with you as you cherish beautiful memories of your Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma.
The Gibbons Family- So very sorry for the loss of your Mom.
