Obituary of Mario Di Lella

Mario Di Lella passed away peacefully at home in Niagara Falls on Sunday March 21st, 2021 at the age of 60 from cancer.
Mario was a loving and devoted son to his beloved parents, Domenica (nee Di Viesti) (February 2020) and Cesare DiLella (April 2017)

He was a loyal and supportive brother to John, Orazio, the late Tony, (May 2020) and Vince. Awesome brother-in-law to Monique, the late Tammy (October 2019), and Susan. Generous and caring uncle to Shauna, Dillon, Tyler, Jennifer, Melanie, Julian and Jordan. Great uncle to 10 and 2 on the way. Proud godfather to Sofia from his much loved “Cuban family”.

He grew up the 4th of 5 boys in Sudbury, On. He, like all boys up there, enjoyed the outdoors and living free as kids did. He was always the negotiator, the mediator and his opinion was often sought. He made friends everywhere he went and some he kept for life.

In high school Mario was known for his wit and academics, he achieved 100%, 2 consecutive years on his final math grades. After graduation he and Tony headed out west to Alberta to meet up with John. He worked for a network cabling company, and he even had the glory job that he loved, driving Zamboni. He came back home to Ontario, and graduated from Seneca College with his Mechanical Engineering degree. He worked for Septer, a plastics manufacturing in his trade and was introduced to Professor Pure Water, the company that would change, both his life’s trajectory and his brother Vince’s. Long story but in the end, LifeSource Water Systems Ltd was his baby and under his leadership it was supported by many family hands. He was successful in his business and his life.
Mario was a good and generous man; it took a lot to get him mad but watch out when he’d had enough. He was smart, knew what he knew and knew it well. He had no problem sharing what he knew to help another person out. He loved his Cuban holidays and the deep friendships he built with Renaldo, Lisa and their daughter Sofia.

He is a man who will be dearly missed by his family, his many friends and colleagues. The family welcomes your online condolences to Mario’s tribute page at EssentialsNiagara.com.

We were customers of Mario’s and want to send our condolences to your family. Mario was such a knowledgeable man and we had great conversations when he came to our house to help with the water system. We heard about his fun travels to Cuba and his good friends there and his wonderful family. Our thoughts are with you. We will miss Mario.

Dear Di Lella family;
Words cannot adequately express our sadness upon hearing the news of Mario’s passing. He is with your parents and God now, happy and free of pain and suffering…which is where we will all be one day, God willing. We pray that with the passing of time, the immense pain that you feel now will eventually be replaced with countless fond memories of the love you shared with Mario over many, many decades.
Sincere condolences,
