Obituary of Marianne M. Lewsey

Lewsey, Marianne M. (née Nagle, formerly Henderson)

After experiencing a fall several months ago, Marianne sadly succumbed to her injuries and passed away in the St. Catharines Hospital, in the early hours of Tuesday, May 21, 2024. She was in her 83rd year. She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband Ron. She was the mother of Brian, Cynthia, Tim, Greg and stepmother of Derek and David. Loving Nana of Foster, Finn, Haley, and Jacob. She will be dearly missed by her longtime childhood friends.

Marianne was an exceptionally talented designer and decorator, renowned for her keen eye for colour. Her distinctive style never went unnoticed; visitors to her home were always captivated by the professionally chosen hues. Her passion for travel was a favourite part of her life, and she explored the world with Ron by her side, both having a particular fondness for Florida. Additionally, she dedicated several years to volunteering as part of the Auxiliary at the St. Catharines Hospital, contributing her time and energy to support the community. Marianne will be missed by her group of friends and by her family.

In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A gathering to celebrate Marianne's life will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the Rooftop Party Room, at 32 Towering Heights Blvd (Shipman 1 ), St. Catharines, from 1-3pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Community Care Food Bank or to the Canadian Mental Health Association. Online condolences may be shared on Marianne’s tribute page found at EssentialsNiagara.com.

Ron, I’m still in shock about Marianne’s death. We wish we had known about the fall so we could have given you both more support. Marianne was a treasure. We had so much fun together over the years supporting the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign of the Stephen Lewis Foundation through the Nyanyas of Niagara. To her surprise, she discovred that she could make beaded bracelets and necklaces for a fundraiser we had! Lots of laughs and hard work!
Her death has left a huge hole in your family’s life but I hope you can fill it with all kinds of wonderful memories to make the greiving process easier.
Both Terry and I will try to come on May 30. ❤

Hello Ron. Larry and I deeply are saddened by Marianne’s passing. Such a fantastic and talented lady. When we first moved in she was so helpful with decorating. We were blessed. Larry just pointed out she was so instrumental in helping with our current draperies. She was such a class act. So much fun. May she rest in peace. So many, many wonderful memories. Hugs to Tedi.
