Obituary of Lucille Adams

After a long and courageous battle with varied illnesses, Lucille Adams (Duval) passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on August 27, 2022. Lucille leaves behind her loving husband of 44 years Rick, her very special children: daughter Melissa Kuczera (Paul) and son Robert Adams (Misty). Lucille aka Nana also leaves behind those, who for the past 16 years, have been her greatest source of joy, grandchildren Julia, Alexander, Sophie, Olivia, Laura and Isaac. Lucille is also lovingly remembered by her parents, Marcel and Julia Duval, sisters Priscilla Duval, Carmen Duval (Peter) and Marcella Cooper (Jim) as well as nieces Julie De Rusett and Sarah Turner and nephew Jason Cooper and their families.

Lucille left Georgian College as a Registered Nursing Assistant and in her earlier years worked as a Personal Support Worker. Lucille was a very empathetic person who had a special place in her heart for the care of the elderly. Her career was not as long as she would have liked, but her impact on those she cared for was profound.

Lucille was a very giving person. Everything she ever did for the people she loved always had to be special. Whether it was gifts, parties, sleepovers, no matter what, it was going to be special and straight from her heart.

There are many wonderful memories that her family and friends will hold on to. In Lucille’s ever so wily way, she has left us with some memory triggers that we will associate with her and when encountered will definitely bring a smile to our faces.

Lucille has been cremated, a service and celebration of her life will be held in her hometown of Penetanguishene, Ontario at a later date. If anyone wishes to make a memorial donation in Lucille's memory, please do so with the Niagara Falls Humane Society.

Dear Rick, Melissa, Robert, your spouses and children too: I am deeply grieved to learn of Lucille’s going forth from our midst into her ongoing eternal life. This is a time of great sadness for all of you and certainly for me as I receive this news. Actually, I was away on a pilgrimage to Europe for over two weeks, just returning last Wednesday, so it was only after that when I was able to check the obituaries. I had many an occasion over the years to connect with your wife, mother, and grandmother, and even when she faced many obstacles regarding health issues, she kept up a stalwart and steadfast approach to life, no doubt centred on her life of strong faith. I especially recall the wonderful time together we shared at Melissa and Paul’s wedding — and baptisms thereafter. Be assured of my prayers for Lucille in the time to come, remembering fondly a woman of grace and strength. (Fr.) Peter Rowe

Rick and family…please accept our deepest condolences. We have some great memories of Lucille when we worked (Ontario Hydro) and socialized together in the 1980’s. We had some great gatherings and I know our wives spend time together as well with our growing children. I hope all the good memories you have of Lucille will help to mend your hearts.
