Obituary of John Fortuna
It is with broken hearts we announce the peaceful passing of John (Giovanni) Fortuna on February 17, 2022 at Bella Care Senior Centre at the age of 87. He has been reunited with the love of his life, Dorothy (Savoie). John is the devoted father to Rob (Michelle) and Rick, loving Nonno to Noah, Keith, Matthew, Clarke and great Nonno to Hannah, cherished brother to Domenic (Anna) and Andy (Eva). John is predeceased by his parents, Antonia and Guistinno as well as his sister Rose and brother-in-law Angelo.John came to Canada from Italy with his parents at the young age of 16. He was a long haul truck driver for most of his life, owning his own transport truck. John loved spending time with his family, especially their trips to Chip N' Charlies where he would order his usual, "The good stuff". You would never catch him without a smile on his face, except when the Chicago Blackhawks were losing. John found great joy in playing golf, making meatballs and drinking Drambuie.
Guests are invited to join John's family at Essentials Cremation and Burial Services 102A-4300 Drummond Road, Niagara Falls on Friday February 18, 2022 from 5:30PM- 7:30PM. Please bring and wear a mask. Social distancing is required. Cremation to follow. A Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Scapular Roman Catholic Church 6557 Thorold Stone Road, Niagara Falls on Monday February 28, 2022 at 1:00PM. If desired, donations in John's memory may be made to Box Run or Ronald McDonald House.

Our deepest sympathies and condolences for your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Myself and the girls enjoyed living beside your father. Many good times and memories he was a great man.
So sorry to hear John has passed … I’ll never forget his one-armed push-ups in the living room. Always a kind man who also made me laugh. I’m sure he’s in heaven making everyone smile.
