Obituary of Gloria Diane Nesbitt

Gloria Diane Nesbitt, 79, peacefully passed away on March 17, 2023 after spending weeks in the hospital courageously battling cancer while surrounded by loved ones. She was pampered with spa treatments, (nails done, hair done etc), viewed slide shows made of all her favourite fur babies and watched movies with her granddaughters who camped out in her hospital room. Gloria was the wife of the late Doug Nesbitt, who passed away on February 1, 1994. She is survived by her son Rick Nesbitt (Heather Fitzpatrick) and her daughter Sheri Nesbitt. Her children and her granddaughters were the most important people in her life and will be forever remembered by Shelbi, Bailee and Emma, whom she loved dearly. She was born to the late Walter and Rhea Coupland and is survived by her siblings, Walter and Denise.

Gloria worked at GM and was a Personal Manager at Stokes Seeds and was also Division Liaison Officer for the Industrial Accident Association. She was a sports car enthusiast who owned a Olds 442 and a Camaro Z28, and drove a Formula 1 car at Mosport Speedway. As a young girl she developed a love of horses after spending summers on a farm in Winnipeg. Gloria enjoyed horses Cody 1 and Cody 2 and also loved dogs (especially Dawson & Koda). Most importantly her granddaughters were the light of her life and she devoted her time and love to caring for them when they were young. Gloria was also a faithful Jehovah’s Witness and regularly attended the Kingdom Hall. She was the most loving and caring Mom (Nana) in the entire world to Sheri and Rick; always there to support them and have their back. She was their support system and best friend who was always there for them. Gloria will be remembered for her kind heart, her love of family and her faith.

In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. A small family burial is planned at a later date. Memorial donations may be given to your local Kingdom Hall.

May she sleep in Jehovah’s memory until the fulfilment of revelation 21:4

Dear Rick, Sheri and family. My sincerest condolences in the loss of your Mom and GrandMom. I had the pleasure of working closely with your Mkm when she was at the St Catharines IAPA office. Gloria was a warm and loving person with a huge heart. She spoke often and fondly of you. She will be missed. I hope the tears of today, in time, will bring smiles of loving memories.
