Obituary of Gerald "Jerry" Moran

In the early hours of Saturday, August 14, 2022 in the comfort of his home surrounded by love and peace, Gerald "Jerry" Moran left us to be reunited with the love of his life, Christine "Chris" (2014). He was the devoted father of Brenda Wilcox (Troy) and Gerald "Jerry" Moran (Bonnie), the cherished Papa to Jennifer Bartley (Mike Daley), Melissa Huskins (Scott), Stephanie McLaughlin, Hannah Moran, Rebekah Moran and David Moran, loving great-papa to Hailey, Caleb, Clayton, Isaiah, and Deacon. Jerry will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, lifelong friends Tom and Joan Sullivan and special friends Muriel Campaigne and Jaret Bartley.

Jerry was born in Toronto in 1934. He joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as an aero engine technician at the age of 19 and served three years. He met Chris in 1961 and they were married in 1962 and then decided to make Niagara their home with their two beautiful children. He enjoyed wrestling as one of the Sullivan Brothers in his youth and playing in euchre tournaments. He started his welding career working at Fleet and had an extensive career at General Motors. He was an avid reader and could never resist a good mystery novel. He was a true family man and would enjoy family trips each year to Florida. As he grew older, he became a huge fan of the game Bingo and was a caller for three years at Emerald Residence. Jerry will always be remembered for his amazing sense of humor. He will be terribly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133) A celebration of life in honor of Jerry will be held at Big Texas Niagara on Saturday, August 20, 2022 from 12:30 p.m until 3:00 p.m.

The family would like to send out a sincere thank you to the P.S.W's from Paramed; Michelle, Mandeep and their supervisor Samantha as well as Liliya, his palliative nurse.

If desired, donations to Ozzie to the Rescue Canada would be appreciated by his family.

My deepest condolences go out to my cousins Brenda and Jerry and all of their family members and anyone that knew my Uncle Jerry. My Uncle Jerry was/is and will always be an amazing man and someone you can never forget. His heart was massive and his love for animals was like no other. My Dad and my Uncle Jerry were brothers and my Dad always lit up when he knew that his brother was coming into town to take their Mom, my Gramma, and her husband Peter to Swiss Chalet. They didn’t get to see each other often but when they did there was always laughter and I just loved that. I can remember as clear as day watching my Uncle Jerry standing in our kitchen holding this little black Tea Cup Poodle and he was just in his glory knowing that this little ball of fur knew that they were safe in my Uncle Jerry’s arms. Our family has lost one of the absolute best men and Heaven has one heck of an Angel. Uncle Jerry I love you and I miss you but I know I will see you again. Come and check on me from time to time and always know how much I love you. Sweet dreams Uncle Jerry………..I love you
