Obituary of George Robert "Bob" Mackey
Joining his beloved wife, George Robert Mackey left us peacefully on July 8th, 2023 at the age of 85.He was a devoted husband to the late Ruth Estella Mackey (nee Trickett), and a dedicated father to Sherri (Richard Ludchen), Darren, and Kevin (Linda Sharma). A doting “Papa” to Kayne Kleber (Shelbey Owsienko), Kayla (Daniel) Vitaterna, Brooklyn, Elsa, and Fynan. “Great-Papa” to Hazel and Ryla. Loving son of Mary and George, brother of Doreen Fox, brother-in-law of Irwin Fox and Ronna Shved, who all passed before him. Brother-in-law to Joan Cain and cherished uncle to his nieces and nephews. Dear friend to Val, the late Artie, Sally, Donnie, Sandy, and Dick.
“Bobby” was born in Niagara Falls, and was a life-long resident of Chippawa. He was a loyal employee of Kaumeyer Paper and the Niagara Falls Hilton. In his active years he played and coached community baseball and hockey, and in his retirement he enjoyed his morning visits at the Chippawa Tim Hortons where he was greeted by many. A man of few words with a quiet, steady presence that we will all miss.
Thank-you to everyone for your outpouring of love and sympathy. We would like to extend special gratitude to the caring staff at the Welland Hospital - Woolcott Wing and Essentials Cremation and Burial Services.

To Bob’s Family
My sincerest condolences on Bob’s passing. While it’s been years since we worked together at Kaumeyer Paper, I remember, fondly his many attributes…and his friendly smile.
Sherry and family, Paul and I are sorry for the loss of your Dad. We both worked with him at Kaumeyer Paper until his retirement and Paul played baseball with him in Chippawa. He will be missed. Sending our condolences.
Although my words can do little to comfort you, I hope my thoughts and prayers will help support you at this very difficult time. Hopefully the good memories will lighten sad hearts and help you all to look ahead the way your dad, “Papa” & “Great-Papa” would have wanted. Bob was an awesome man and will surely be missed. Rest easy my friend
