Obituary of Doug Young
Surrounded by his family, Doug peacefully passed away in his home on Monday, June 14, 2021 at the age of 96. He has been reunited with his beloved wife Jean. He will be lovingly remembered by Lyn (Jim) Grant, Marsha Verreth, Bill (Debbie) Young, Bob (Barb)Young, and by his grandchildren; Melanie (Kevin) Hanlon, Buzz Grant (the late Maghan), Shaun (Sue) Thiessen, Trevor (Mai-Ling) Thiessen and Zack Young. He was a proud great-grandpa of 11 great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his friends at Chippawa Creek Bella Care Residence. Doug spent his whole career working for CN Railway. Our family is left with many memories of a dear father, grandfather and great grandfather, many of which involved pranks, laughter and his quick witted character. A special thank you to all the staff at Bella, for their exceptional care and for creating a loving home for Doug. In accordance cremation has taken place and arrangements are entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. In memory of Doug, memorial donations may be given to Chippawa Creek Bella Care Residence.Service Information

Doug was an amazing man with a great sense of humour! He loved his family fiercely and was so proud every-time he talked about them! He will be greatly missed. My heartfelt condolences to his family and friends.
