Obituary of Dale Hess

Dale passed away peacefully with family by his side on March 2, 2024 at the age of 72. He is now reunited with his daughter Jennifer Liscombe (2018), his brothers Terry and Wayne Hess and his parents Allen and Ethel Hess. Dale was the beloved husband and best friend of 31 years to Kathy Hess. He will be lovingly remembered by his sons Dennis (Leighann) Ditzel, Trevor (Kristin) Ditzel and Andrew (Stephanie) Ditzel. Cherished Pops to Owen, Ava, Evan, Jazzmyn, Brody, Ashton and Alyssa. Dale will also be missed by his sisters-in-law Rosemarie Hess and Beverly Hess; his nephew Derek (Barb) Hess and his family. Much loved brother-in-law to Debbie (Ronny) Leger, Mike (Linda) Keys, Sherry (the late Don) Yeoman, Laurie (the late Roger) Dumais, John (Val) Keys and Connie (the late Bradley) Barlow. In addition to his loving family, Dale leaves behind his friends Anne and Bill Phelan and Beth Hodgins as well as all of his Rogers buddies.

Dale dedicated 40 years of his life to Rogers Cable, serving as a Senior Line Technician in the London and Woodstock areas. Outside of work, Dale found solace and joy in the great outdoors. A true outdoorsman, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. His time spent working outdoors only enhanced his appreciation for the natural world. Dale enjoyed woodworking and camping. Some of his fondest memories were made while taking his boys on camping trips to Algonquin Park.

Dale was a very loving man, and his devotion to his family knew no bounds. While he could be reserved at times, he was always eager to engage in spirited conversations about his passions and interests. Dale had a special fondness for his Black Russians in the winter and a cold beer in the summer, always enjoying the simple pleasures life had to offer.

The family extends their sincere gratitude to Oakwood Park Lodge for their exceptional care and support over the last couple of years. Special thanks to Louann, Alicia, Lord, Charmaine, Juvi, Susan, and the rest of the staff, for your kindness and compassion.

Cremation has taken place. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society of Niagara.

I was very sad to hear that Dale had passed away. He and I started working at London Cable TV ( before it became Rogers) within days of each other in 1972 and worked together for several years. I remember spending coffee breaks at the London airport watching the planes land and and take off. He loved it there. He was a great guy and dedicated employee. He will be missed.
My sympathy to you and your family.

Heart felt sympathy , I had the pleasure to work with Dale in many areas of the cablesystem . There are too many situations to tell . One time stands out when I think back , it was in a park on break . Dale often brought his little dog Coco to work . That day we were talking away in the park and didn’t realize that Coco had gone for a little walk and we couldn’t see where he had gone . So here we were yelling “Coco ,Coco ,Coco “ and Coco came running back to Dale . I said to Dale “ I wonder what passers bye thought of these two grown men dressed in our reflective safety wear yelling Coco ,Coco in a park “ We just laughed and carried on our day . I’ll miss Dale he was a good Man !
