Obituary of Cheryl Farr (nee Lisk)

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Cheryl Farr (Nee Lisk) on December 29th, 2020 at the age of 63. Cheryl will be deeply missed by Bill Farr, her best friend and beloved husband of 42 years. Cheryl was the love of Bill’s life - he treasures the beautiful memories of the life they built together. Devoted Mother to William Farr (Stephanie) and Pamela McConnell (Patrick). The loss is immeasurable as we not only lost our Mom but a dear and treasured friend.

Her greatest joy in life was her role of “Grammie” to her four beautiful grandchildren, Jack, Gavin, Freddie and Whalen. She will be remembered fondly for her warm hugs and her endless smoochies will be so missed. Adored daughter-in-law to Edith and William Farr. Sister in-law to John Farr, David Farr, Karen Sypes, Laura Stouth, Elaine Farr and spouses, she was very loved by all. Cheryl will be deeply missed by her Aunt Betty White and Uncle Allan White, Cousins Linda and Neil, Lila-Mae and her Son Ray.
Cheryl also will be missed by her 10 nieces and nephews and all of their children; they each held a special place in her heart.

Cheryl had a passion for horses that started very early in her life. Cheryl was a friendly face and caring horse lover in the equine community over the years. She leaves behind many “barn families” that she cared so deeply for over the years. Cheryl will be dearly missed by her many coworkers at Niagara Health - she considered many her close friends and sisters. The relationships she made during her time at Niagara Health made a profound impact in her life.

We are certain a beautiful reunion has taken place with her loving Mother Shirley Lisk and Jack Lisk.

Cheryl had a passion for good food and good drinks. She made delicious roast beef dinners with world famous gravy, frequently requested by her family. Her famous taco dips were also the first to be devoured at any event. Cheryl adored taking family vacations and loved country music. The memories of attending country concerts together will be cherished by her daughter Pamela and loving sister-in-law’s, Laura Stouth and Karen Sypes.

If you knew Cheryl - you knew she lived a life full of kindness, compassion, and integrity. We plan to honour Cheryl by holding on to these values and continuing to live life to the fullest.

Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133) has been entrusted with arrangements. Cheryl’s life will be celebrated during a private ceremony at the Farr Cemetery at later date. Donations to the Walker Family Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family, and online condolences may be shared on Cheryl’s tribute page at EssentialsNiagara.com.

We will miss you, until we meet again.

Cheryl was a genuinely kind and gentle soul with a huge heart. I was fortunate to sit beside her for many years at work where we shared our lives, on the deepest level. Cheryl loved my Jenny and was the most supportive friend I had thru all the years we battled to save Jen and for that I will always be grateful to have had Cheryl in my life. I know Cheryl is my little girls momma bear now in heaven. I know that Pam and BJ will carry the spirit and love of their mom forever. Heaven has gained another beautiful angel.

Cheryl was one of the first people I met working at the NHS. She instantly became one of my many “work Moms” as I was around her daughter’s age. I loved having lunch break with Cheryl as it was guaranteed to ensue many laughs and interesting stories from her ranging from going to country concerts in Pittsburgh, buying horses and swimming with dolphins to her many trips to Handlebar Hanks and Sammy’s Pizza. It was always very apparent how much Cheryl loved her family. I miss her already. I hope she is at peace now and that they are playing Kenny for her!

There is a hole in my heart with the loss of this wonderful lady. I met Cheryl when she was pregnant with Pam and BJ was just a little guy. We worked side by side for many years. It was my priviledge to be part of the Welland Hospital Heath Records family.. We nicknamed Cheryl “head full of water” because she was so full of compassion, empathy and love for any human or animal who was either physically or emotionally struggling, that she would cry at the drop of a hat. Her emotional sensitivity is just one of the many qualities we all loved about her. Her heart was as big as all outdoors. I feel so blessed to have had Cheryl in my life. Cheryl’s dear family were her greatest pride and joy without a doubt. Bill, BJ, Pam, your spouses and your beautiful children, please accept my heartfelt, deepest sympathy for this incredible loss. Cheryl – may you rest in eternal peace knowing that you were so deeply loved by all whose path you crossed. XXOO

Met Cheryl many years ago when we both worked in the same office at the Welland Hospital. Both our families became very close over the years as we both had the same love of Disney, cruising, good food and dancing with a drink in our hand on the beach. We went on many vacations with the Farrs. We actually were planning another one once we got through the pandemic and Cheryl’s medical problems. Time ran out. Cheryl always put others before her own needs, when my son had a lot of medical issues and had to have surgery at Sick Kids, she and Sue took a Go train after work to come see him. She was always his biggest cheerleader. Her family was the most important thing to her. Bill, BJ, Pam and babies my heart is so broken over your loss…Cheryl we love you and miss you

Bill,Pam and family, we are so sorry to hear of Cheryl’s passing. She was such a beautiful lady. Whenever we saw her, she was friendly and smiling. She was so kind to my mom when Shirley and mom spent so much time together . Though we hadn’t seen her lately we did touch base on Facebook once in awhile and there was always a kind or encouraging word about our granddaughter’s accomplishments. Hers is a life cut way too short . She will at least have peace and be pain free if a very ugly disease.
