Obituary of Brynley James Knowles

06/03/1947 - 10/07/2022

It is with deep sadness the family of Bryn Knowles announces his passing on October 7, 2022. Bryn was the devoted stepfather to Ryan (Sarah) and Amanda (James). Beloved Papa to Olivia, Sofia, Eliza and Owen. Predeceased by his wife Patti (2014).

Bryn was born in Brantford, Ontario. He proudly enlisted and served in the Royal Canadian Navy as a meteorologist at the young age of 16. Bryn was best known for his business Niagara Falls Exchange on Queen Street. He was a lifetime member of the Niagara Falls Optimist Club, holding many positions throughout his tenure, including Past President and Lieutenant Governor. Volunteer work was important to Bryn, and he loved helping out at Optimist community events like Slo-pitch and the Fish Fry. He was an avid golfer, animal lover and family man. Bryn touched the lives of everyone with his sense of humor and grand personality.

The family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the staff at Eventide for their care and compassion.

We will remember Bryn on Thursday, October 20 at 10:30 a.m. with a graveside service at Fairview Cemetery, followed by a reception at The Columbus Club, 6944 Stanley Ave from 12 - 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Diabetes Canada or Eventide.

I have resisted posting since I found out but I believe it’s necessary to dispell any belief that he was a good man.
I am his ONLY biological child. He tried to kill me TWICE! once while in the womb once while out.
He was a child molester, an incestuous monster, a woman beater. I am grateful he is gone. I could say more but why?

Amanda, Ryan and families we were fortunate to have Bryn as part of our Eventide family-he loved conversation, company and the cafe. When the weather was nice he lived to sit out front with a good book. He attended chapel services followed by a good conversation. He represented the veterans well especially at the Remembrance Day service proudly carrying the flag.
May God provide comfort in those days.

Bryn was one of the first Optimist members I met outside my club. He always had a big smile for everyone and was willing to help anytime he was asked.
On behalf of myself, and the Optimist club of St Catharines, I send our condolences to the family.
RIP on the Sunny Side, Bryn
