Obituary of Brian Laird Hilton

Brian Laird Hilton passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, at the age of 77. He has been reunited with his parents, Andy and Helen and with Stella, his beloved dog who brought joy and companionship into his life.

Brian leaves behind a legacy of love and friendship. He is survived by his devoted wife, Rosalind, his son Adam, and a circle of lifelong friends, including Pete and Linda Air, Terry and Bev Jensen, and Ron and Sandy Pike. Together, they shared countless memories of laughter, camaraderie, and unwavering support.

Brian's life was marked by a profound commitment to his profession, a passion for culinary delights, an appreciation for poetry, and a deep love for animals. A dedicated chartered accountant for half a century, Brian exemplified professionalism and integrity in his work. His expertise and meticulous attention to detail earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and clients alike. Beyond the realm of finance, Brian's interests were diverse and vibrant. A true foodie, he delighted in savoring dishes such as homemade burgers, meatloaf, scalloped potatoes, and chicken breast with gusto. His culinary adventures were matched only by his love for poetry, finding solace and inspiration in the written word. Additionally, Brian's musical talents shone brightly as he lent his skills to the band, creating memories that will endure for years to come.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services and a private family service will be held for Brian followed by interment at Fairview Cemetery. If desired, donations to Linhaven Long-Term Care, NHS – Welland Site (Woolcott Wing), or Parkinson Canada are greatly appreciated. In honoring Brian's memory, let us cherish the moments shared, the lessons learned, and the love given.

Brian was a wonderful man. He was full of fun and quick to laugh. His love of music and his joy of food was epic! That man was NEVER late to dinner. He doted on and loved Ros deeply and had a beautiful relationship with his son Adam. I’ll miss him and his wonderful hugs.
