Obituary of Betty Sheehan (née Fournier)
Passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, surrounded by her loving family a month after her 100th birthday. Betty’s departure marks the reunion with her beloved husband Syd (1998).Betty was a devoted Mom to Vivian Lesco (Don 2016), Jeff Sheehan (Sandra), Bruce Sheehan (Jane) and Tony Sheehan (Rose 2023). She was affectionately known as Nan/GG to her six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Betty was a dear sister to Janisse and will be deeply missed by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Betty was an exceptional cook, artist, avid reader, bridge player, and loved watching reruns of Murder She Wrote. Betty leaves a legacy of kindness, laughter and love.
The family would like to thank Dr. Ali, Lise, Nora, and all the wonderful caregivers from Paramed and Plymouth Cordage for your kindness and caring shown to our Mom.
In keeping with Betty's wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services in Welland. If desired, donations in Betty's memory can be made to the Alzheimer's Society and would be appreciated by her family.
