Obituary of Alfred Wierzimok

In his 95th year, talented craftsman, handyman and gardener- Alfred was active in his garden until the end.
Born near Oppeln, Germany, Alfred immigrated to Canada via the UK in 1952. Survived by Daphne, devoted wife of 68 years, and son Bryan (Toronto).
Alfred was an upholsterer by trade, and was a long-time employee of Crest Upholstery in Niagara Falls, and later of Lincoln Furniture and finally of Haubrok's Upholstery, Niagara-on-the-Lake.
He was a member of many clubs and organizations throughout the years; Niagara Philatelic Society, Niagara Peninsula Geological Society, Niagara Falls Camera Club, Niagara Falls Nature Club, the Marquetry Society of Canada, Niagara Region Orchid Society, Hamilton Model Engineering Club and the St. Catharines Stamp Club. He was a man of many hobbies and skills; stone-cutting, jewelry making, stained glass, leather tool-work, photography, lathe work, tool making, model building and orchid growing.
Alfred is predeceased by his parents, Josef and Klara and by siblings; Luzie, Josef, Helmut and Anna. He is survived by sisters Maria (Leverkusen DE) and Renate (Ochodze PL) and by sister-in-law Edith (Koeln DE).
