Obituary of Vincenzo "Jim" Testa

April 30, 1957 – July 12, 2021
Peacefully surrounded by his family, Jim passed away on Monday, July 12, 2021 after a long courageous battle of cancer.  Survived by his wife of 39 years Joan (nee Bowman), brothers John (Julie), Michael (Caroli) and sister Susan. Uncle of Alyssa (Korey), Stephanie, Brittany, Samuel (Alexis), Alexander, Simon (Vanessa), Rory, and great uncle of Silas. Jim will also be missed by his brothers-in-law; Jeff Davies, Howard (Tina), Tom, Brad (Becky) Bowman, sister-in-law Nora (Jim), and niece Michelle. Jim will also be fondly remembered by his Uncle Frank and many cousins near and far. Predeceased by his parents Angelo and Michelina (Maselli), and brothers-in-law Russell and Larry Bowman.

Jim was born in Cerromaggiore, Campobasso, Italy. He came to Canada when he was 2 years old with his parents, and spent his life in St. Catharines. Throughout the years he has made many friends who will miss his humor and sharp wit. Jim spent his career doing woodworking. He had a talent for designing and building staircases and railings, which he loved to do. Thank you to all of the doctors and nurses at the Walker Family Cancer Centre for their care and compassion. Also, a special thanks to the home care team for giving him dignity in his final days.

Cremation has taken place and arrangements are entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). There will be a private family interment. A memorial service will be held at a later date. If desired memorial donations may be made to JW.org or to a charity of your choice.

Dear Joan and Family. Our sincere condolences to you. We truly remember Jim’s humour and great laugh. A time we all look forward to is to see Jim again but in peaceful conditions when no one will say I am sick. Jehovah will give you the strength to cope and endure such a trial. Sending our love to you and thinking and praying for you to take a day at a time.
Sincerely
