Obituary of Dean Bigelow
Dean Bigelow - After a short illness and a valiant fight with cancer, Dean passed away on Monday, April 5, 2021 at the NHS- St. Catharines Site, at the age of 61. He has been reunited with his parents Clifford and Merle, and with his brother Barton. Dean will be lovingly remembered by his daughter Emily Ballantyne and by his longtime companion Mary Duckworth. Dean will also be missed by his nephews Brandon and Brad Bigelow, and by many great friends. A special thank you to Albert Zappitelli for all of his help during this difficult time.We are sad to say goodbye to Dean. He was a devoted father and the most loving partner. Family and friends will remember him for his passion and love of muscle cars and the automotive industry. He was creative, a jack of all trades, and even a perfectionist in his own way. At the same time, Dean had a laid back personality and was simply down to earth.
We wish to extend our appreciation to the health care team at the Walker Family Cancer Centre and to the caring nurses through the St. Catharines Hospital for their compassion and support. Arrangements have been entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). Due to covid, a private graveside interment will take place at Pleasantview Memorial Gardens, Hwy 20 Fonthill. A gathering and celebration of Dean's life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by Dean's family.
"Now cracks a noble heart. Good night sweet prince. May flights of angels sing thee to thy rest."
- Hamlet Act 5, Scene 2
