Obituary of Francis Joseph Burns
BURNS, Francis Joseph “Frank”Peacefully passed away with his family by his side at the Hamilton General Hospital, on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 in his 87th year. He leaves behind his beloved spouse Kathleen Murphy, his children Kathy Clarke, Brian (Dawn) Burns, Chrissie Burns, Kevin Burns and step-children Patricia Nelson and Katherine Nelson. Loving grandpa of Sherri, Nicole (Paul), Nina, Zoe, Marius, Oonagh, Kim, Ross, Burke, Bridget, Victoria, Portia, Liam, and proud great-grandpa of 15. He will also be greatly missed by his friend Sam. Frank was predeceased by his parents, his 10 siblings and by his stepson Mark Nelson. A longtime employee of Ford, in Oakville, Frank retired in 1992. In his retirement he enjoyed expressing his creativity in furniture building and woodworking. A special thank you to the ICU East at the Hamilton General Hospital, for the compassionate care Frank received. In accordance with Frank’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Mass will be celebrated at Saint Michael Roman Catholic Church, 310 Central Ave, Fort Erie, on Thursday, August 2, 2018 at 11a.m. A family interment will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905) 354-2133. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the charity of one’s choice.
