Obituary of Sally (Sara) Jones (née Harris)

Sally passed away on April 6, 2024, in her 77th year, taken from us after a courageous battle with cancer. Sally was the beloved wife of Bud (Francis) Jones. Loving mother of Ryan, and proud grandmother to Jessica and Franky. Sally was predeceased by her parents Willard and Myra Harris, her brothers Burnly, Dave, and Steve, and by her sister Maryjoyce. She leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She will be sorely missed by her adored cat Holly. Sally was a cherished daughter-in-law to the late Marie Jones and sister-in-law to Marie (the late Fred) Gobbi, the late Don Jones and Jim (Carol) Jones. Sally will also be remembered by her good friend Maria Allegro.

Sally was born in Clyde River, Nova Scotia. At a young age, Sally and her family moved to Ontario, and she eventually settled in Dain City. Dedicated to serving her community, Sally spent many years working with the Red Cross. Sally's zest for life was evident in her love for travelling, fishing, golfing, camping and her time spent at Legion functions. She was a friend to all and will be forever remembered by those fortunate enough to know her.

Cremation has taken place. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Kevin’s Catholic Church, 303 Niagara St, Welland, on Tuesday, April 16 at 10 a.m., followed by an interment at Holy Cross Cemetery and then a Celebration of Life at the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch #4), 383 Morningstar Avenue in Welland beginning at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre or to the Juravinksi Cancer Centre.
