Obituary of Rhonda Jean Nicholson

After a lengthy illness, Rhonda passed away peacefully on Friday, April 18 2024, at the St. Catharines General Hospital, at the age of 69. A caring and loving mother of John (Laura) and Jenny (Howard). Dear sister of Lorraine (James), Lynn (Ed) and Lori (Ken). Rhonda was a special grandparent to Erica (Orion), Michelle, Tyson, Janeya, Teegan, and a very proud great grandmother to Isla. Rhonda will be remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She has been reunited with her beloved parents Jack and June, and with her partner Geoff.

Those who knew Rhonda will remember her as outgoing, genuine, accepting, generous, understanding and kind. She loved to talk to people, was generous with her time and was always there to take care of others. She was the type of person who could be found feeling under the weather, but that wouldn't stop her efforts towards delivering food to her neighbours in the apartment building. Family meant everything to Rhonda; she would always check in and would never miss a call to them. Regardless of what direction the family may have drifted apart to, it brought her immense joy and peace when she connected with them. Regardless of whether her family was present or not, love was always reciprocated and felt. The memories Rhonda leaves her family will certainly include her bright smile, caring and selfless nature and her sense of humour. As she would sign off and say "Go Leafs Go!" (Which we all know she would say just for her son, John!)

A special thank you to Dr. R. Utgikar, the team at Care Station A1 and even the caretaker at the hospital, for their compassion and amazing support. They made a difference, even in just the short time Rhonda was there. In accordance with Rhonda's wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements are entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. A gathering for family and friends will be held at Essentials, 4300 Drummond Road, on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 3-5pm. As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations can be given to the Niagara Falls Humane Society.
