Obituary of Karen Christine Kimsey

On April 15, 2024, we lost a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Karen passed away at the age of 62, after a courageous five-year battle with cancer. Karen was a devoted mother to Crystalynn (Alexander) McDougall, Charlene Kimsey (Andre Baxter), Brooke (Jeremy) Stiles, Leshauna Bell, and Neil Kimsey. Proud and adored Nanny to Christian, Stephanie, Haylie, Nathan, Bennett, Hayden, and Carter. Karen was a beloved daughter to Joan Rose Parker, and a much loved sister to Cheryl, Joy (Rick), Sandy (Tony), Nancy (Rob), Sonya (Tim) and Gayle. She will also be lovingly remembered by James Hill and Kerri, who was like a daughter to her. Even though they weren't bound by blood, they were loved and embraced as cherished members of her family.

Throughout her life, Karen worked in various roles in the Food and Beverage Industry, where she forged many lifelong friendships. She was also a volunteer driver for FACS, a position she took great pride in. She loved all of the kids and families she met through her time spent there. Karen enjoyed frequenting thrift stores throughout Niagara, always discovering treasures along the way. If you needed something, you could count on Karen to have at least 4!

Karen will be remembered for being a strong and loving woman. She always wanted to help and take care of others, and had the innate ability in knowing exactly the right thing to say at all times. She absolutely adored her family, and found immense joy in her role as a grandmother, relishing every moment spent with her beloved grandchildren. Her love for travel, especially her Disney trips with her grandkids, are memories that will be cherished forever.

In accordance with Karen's wishes, cremation has taken place, and she requested no visitation or service. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre.

Karen was a lovely person she could be a little rough around the edges but if you were lucky enough to work with her you know that you wouldn’t have to work alone! Karen have 💯 percent to everyone she loved and everywhere she worked. I talked with Karen a while ago and she was a fighter and looking forward to joining us for breakfast. She will be missed. RIP Laten❤️

I met Karen through her daughter Brooke. At first I didn’t think she liked me but as time went on I seen that we got along really great and she gave me some great health tips. My condolences to the family and friends. She was an amazing lady who I learned a lot from.
