Obituary of Winnifred Orr “Judy”

Our world has said goodbye to a one-of-a-kind lady, as Judy peacefully passed away in her home on Tuesday, April 26, 2022, at the age of 78. She has been reunited with her parents Irene May and Robert Fairfax and with her brother Michael Roy. Judy was always generous and took care of her family. She will be dearly missed by her brother Robert Orr Sr (the late Wendy). Proud Aunt and Great-Aunt Ju-Ju of Kyle Orr (Matt Snoei), Michael Orr, Robert Orr Jr. (Katie), Taylor Orr, and to Tristan and Quinn Snoei, and Kennedy Orr. She will be fondly remembered by her neighbour and dear friend Renee Randall, also by April and John who were always supportive and checked in on Judy.

Judy was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls. She had a “she’s the boss” type of personality and easily fit leadership roles; one of which was sitting on City Council for the City of Niagara Falls for over 20 years. Her interest in political science led her to be active with numerous committees, which did a lot of good for city residents and community.  She spent years working at Brock University, helping students in job development, and also explored employment at Casino Niagara. Judy was a member of Christ Church where she attended services regularly.

Aunt Ju-Ju never held back telling people what she thought but she would always do it out of love, as her family meant everything to her. We will miss her great sense of humour, her fashionable wardrobe,   endless knowledge of the British Monarchy, and all the lessons she taught us. A special thank you to the Queen Street Pharmacy and Medical Clinic, RN Chris Smith of St. Elizabeth’s and to Judy’s team at Juravinski for providing great care to Judy through the years. In accordance with Judy’s wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). A Celebration of her life will be at a later date. Memorial donations may be given to the VON Canada, St. Elizabeth Health or to the Niagara Falls Humane Society. Online condolences may be shared on Judy’s tribute page found at EssentialsNiagara.com

Our deepest condolences go out to all family and friends of Judy. We grew up across the street from the Orr’s on Ontario Avenue and have fond memories of Judy, Bobby, Michael and Mrs. and Mr. Orr. Our mom Lois Crossman wanted to share what a nice person Judy was. We planted trees in memory of Judy. Thinking of you Bobby and all of Judy’s family at this time. Sincerely – the Crossman family

In loving memory ...
I/we pledge to make a memorial donation.
