Obituary of William "Tex" Mackenzie
It is with great sadness that our family announces the sudden passing of Bill on November 16, 2021 at the age of 74. He was the beloved husband and soulmate of Shirley (nee Currie) for 37 years, loving father to Sean (Kathy), Chris (Danielle), Billie Lynn (Pete), Carrie (Teeple), the cherished grandfather of Damian, Peter, Patrick, Kaitlyn and Robbie, and theson of the late Alex and Isabel Mackenzie. Bill was the baby brother to Belle and Bob Marlow, Margaret and John Teggart and sister in law Maureen. He is predeceased by his brothers Alex and Walter. Much loved son in law of Shirley McConnell. Bill will be missed terribly by his brother in law Don (Rhoeda), Carol, Linda (Paul), nieces, nephews, friends and neighbours and by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Bill's furry companion Ceasar is feeling the void that his passing has left.
Bill was born and raised in Long Branch, Ontario. He played professional Lacrosse and Old Timers Hockey. He was a Toronto Maple Leaf fan and also enjoyed cheering for the Las Vegas Raiders.
Bill was a retired sprinkler fitter and was proud to pass his skills onto his sons and grandsons. In keeping with Bill's wishes, cremation has taken place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905 354 2133). Bill's family will have a Celebration of his Life on Sunday November 28, 2021 from 1:00PM - 3:00PM at The Optimist Club 7085 Morrison Street, Niagara Falls. I am so very sad to hear about Bill’s passing. I have such wonderful memories of Billy and Shirley coming to Moose Lake and Alex and I going to visit you all at Christmas.. Bill was such a jokester. i remember him telling me that they turned Niagara Falls off in the winter and I almost believed him. My thoughts are with all of the Mackenzies.
Monique and I are so sorry to hear about the passing of Uncle Bill. Our deepest sympathies to Shirley and family, Belle & Bob, Margaret & John. We will always remember Bill’s laugh and great sense of humour. We have fond memories and we’re fortunate to have had a visit with Uncle Bill & Shirley in Florida.
