Obituary of William Harry Jolley "Harry"

At his residence on May 9, 2021 with his family by his side, Harry entered into his eternal life at the age of 88. Harry was deeply loved and cherished by his wife, sweetheart and friend of almost 70 years, Boop (Betty). Always looked up to, and very special loved father of Rick (Christine) and Betty Ann. Beloved brother to Robert “Bud” (Diane), and brother-in-law to Bev (Brian). He was predeceased by his eldest son Bill (1997), his youngest daughter Leslie (2006), and his sisters Miriam and Eunice. Harry was Grandfather and chief storyteller to his grandchildren, Naomi (Elliott), Billy (Kelsey), Katie (Zak), David, Timothy, Rick, and Virginia sending them into fits of laughter and horror as he recounted the old school days. He adored and loved his great-grandchildren, his namesake William Harry VII, the Apple of His Eye, and Aerith, Great-Grandpa’s little sweetheart.

For many years Harry and Betty enjoyed ballroom dancing and cruising the Great Lakes. A successful businessman, Harry and his partner Jim Andrews owned and operated Alliance Abrasive Wheel for over thirty years, retiring at age 75.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation or service at Harry’s request. Interment and private graveside service at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133). As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to Visiting Angels would be greatly appreciated. So very sorry to hear of Harry’s passing. He was always a gentleman. Married to my cousin Betty to whom he was a devoted and loving husband. I remember Harry as a young married going back to school to get his engineering degree. What an example to all who knew him family and associates. R.I.P.
