Obituary of Wilfred “Wilf” Eric Edwards

It is with sorrow that the family of Wilfred “Wilf” Eric Edwards announce his passing on March 2, 2026, at the Marotta Family Hospital.

Wilf is now reunited with his beloved wife, Joyce Edwards (née McDonald); his parents, James and Caroline; his siblings Alex Hilton, Helen Hogue, Don Edwards, Syd Edwards, Ken Edwards, Jack Edwards, Gladys Evans and Norma White; his daughter Cindy Smith; son-in-law Gil Garon; and grandchildren Dustin Everett and Brandon Smith.

He will be lovingly remembered by his children Pam Edwards (Dave Robertson), Penny (Earl) Everett and Robin Garon, as well as his sister-in-law Toni Edwards.

Wilf was a proud and devoted grandfather to Rob (Kristy), Mike (Kim), Destiny (Cory), Anna (Jeff), Stanley (Jessica), Marcy (Roger), Cody (Kristen), Joselyn, Joel and Luxi, and a cherished great-grandfather to 16 great-grandchildren. He will also be deeply missed by his in-laws Elaine (Art) Bergin, Lorne McDonald, Wayne (Shirly) McDonald, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Wilf was a “farmer tough” kind of guy who loved working on his farm, but he also enjoyed spending time gardening alongside his wife Joyce, who was his everything. When he wasn’t busy working, he could often be found relaxing in his sunroom watching the birds, wildlife around the house, or watching the Blue Jays and Maple Leafs on TV. He also enjoyed working in his woodshop building furniture for family and friends.

Wilf also gave generously of his time, volunteering to cut grass for the Stevensville Conservation Club and helping out at the Stevensville Farmer's Market.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Wilf’s favourite spot, Scuttlebutt (2596 Stevensville Rd., Stevensville), from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., where friends and family are invited to raise a glass in honour of Wilf.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Wilf’s memory to the Canadian Wildlife Federation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
