Walter Horr

1959 - 2020

Obituary of Walter Horr

Horr, Walter
Passed away suddenly at Hamilton General Hospital at the age of 61, on Friday, August 21, 2020. Loving husband to Aleksandra Nowak-Horr. Cherished father to Yvonne Seeger, Michael Bohn and Jennifer Horr and beloved father figure to Robert (Edyta) Nowak and Krzysztof Nowak. Dear brother to Kaja Horr and Grandpa to Angelica Nowak, Adrian Nowak, Mila Seeger and Felix Seeger. Walter will be remembered by many, not just the fur babies and horses, but by all in the horse and Balanced Dressage community.

Walter always helped whenever he could, and always did so with a smile. He loved his horses and the local horse community and would do anything for them. He will be remembered for being knowledgeable and full of stories that always made people laugh.

Thank you to all the health care workers that tried hard to save his life. The family would also like to thank the Balanced Dressage and Horse Community in working together to complete Walter’s last dream, to bring his Trakehner Stallion home. Essentials Cremation and Burial Services has been entrusted with arrangements (905-354-2133). A Celebration of Walter’s life will take place at the farm, 2810 Wessel Drive, Pelham, on Sunday, August 30, at 4pm (potluck style). Memorial donations can be made towards the farm and would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be shared at EssentialsNiagara.com

I am deeply saddened to hear of your unexpected loss. Although I did not know Walter well his warm and gentle demeanour impacted the people around him as well as the horses he came into contact with. He had trailered my horse on several occasions and I was always impressed by his patience. It didn’t matter to him how long it took my horse to get on his trailer, as long as my horse felt safe, which Walter always ensured. The last day I saw Walter was July 2nd when he graciously took me on a tour of his farm, introducing me to all his beloved fur babies and the newest additions,, Dynasty and Brownie. I have a video of that day including Walter petting the horses, which I will cherish and share with you.
May the love of those around you and your family provide comfort and strength.

In loving memory ...
I/we pledge to make a memorial donation.

“A horse, a horse, my kingdom for a horse!”

William Shakespeare

Walter Horr was a true horseman. A man that loved the spirit , grace and wisdom of the Equine Kingdom.
His vast knowledge and insight into the equine psyche was unsurpassed. Walter’s spirit and strength of character will be missed by his loved ones. The boarders, and horses will miss his unconditional love for everything horse related.
Bless Walter on his trusted steed, on his journey home.
