Obituary of Vincent "Sonny" Barry

Barry, Vincent “Sonny”

Passed away peacefully at Greater Niagara General Hospital with family by his side on April 12, 2021 in his 74th year. Lovingly remembered by the best wife in the world of 55 years, Brenda Barry. Cherished dad to Kim “Wheezy”, Laura, Krista (Jamie), and Fred (Helen). Remembered grandfather to Jessy, the late Wyatt, Tabatha, Johnathan, Ashley (Sean), Raegan, Darian, Dawson, Jessica, Nick and a great grandfather to 9. Missed by his best friends Sharon, Jim, and Ange. He will be missed by his siblings, the Nevestuk family, all extended family and by everyone who knew him.

Cars were Sonny’s life. He was a proud owner of many but a few of his favourites included his 1929 Sedan, 1929 Sport Coupe and his 1936 Plymouth. Him and his wife Brenda would drive a car to local car shows where he would occasionally receive trophies for the Sport Coupe. He loved all movies, being referred to as a “Movie Buff”. He also loved gardening and tending to his vegetables. He adored animals, even raising birds in his farm life. Sonny loved his family with all his heart but was a man that kept to himself. He will be sadly missed and never forgotten.

The family would like to thank the staff of Greater Niagara General Hospital for their help to the family during their time there. Essentials Cremation and Burial Services (905-354-2133) has been entrusted with arrangements. As per Sonny’s wishes cremation has taken place. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences may be shared to Sonny’s tribute page at EssentialsNiagara.com.

I’m sure of it, that you and my Mom are up there in Heaven watching Survivor’s. How we all loved to come to yours and Aunt Brenda’s house for a night out. We shared so much laughter and made great memories that I will cherish forever. Rest now Uncle Sonny, my hero. I will miss you but never forget. Sending hugs. Love you.💙🙏💙

Our deepest sympathy. Uncle Sonny, was such an entertaining man. He was so proud of his family and his interest of vehicles. I loved to listen to his stories of car shows. He will certainly be missed by so many!

My heart breaks for you all. He was a wonderful brother in law, husband to my Sister Brenda for 55 years. A adored Father, and Grandfather to many. He always welcomed you into his home with open arms. I’m sadden by your loss. As many of us are. He loved the car shows with his wife. She was the apple of his eyes. I bless you all. He will be truly missed by us all. ❤️❤️
