Obituary of Victor Joseph Downing
Victor Joseph Downing, aged 94, peacefully passed away on January 4, 2024, surrounded by the love of his devoted wife, Evelyn, and daughter, Carolyn. Born on January 2, 1930, Victor was predeceased by his parents, Edward and Christina, his son Michael, granddaughter Tara, and grandson Hayden.A loving husband of 62 years, Victor is survived by his cherished wife, Evelyn, who stood by his side through thick and thin. He leaves behind his son Larry (Cindy), daughter Carolyn (Russ), granddaughter Amanda Karner (Bryant), and great-grandchildren Carleigh and Mackenzie.
Victor found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for cottaging, camping, boating, and fishing up North. One of his great joys was his faithful companion, Kandi, the shih tzu he had for thirteen years.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetes Association of Canada. In accordance with Victor’s wishes, cremation will take place. Arrangements have been entrusted to Essentials Cremation and Burial Services.
A devoted family man, Victor leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. May he rest in peace, forever in our hearts.
