Oh my…..I’m so sorry to hear this sad news. Vic was an amazing being. Knew him from Farr Lumber and then we met again with his lovely wife Betty while having a garage sale. We became fast friends over not just garage sailing but also gardening and our silkie chickens which Vic immediately fell in love with and then our goats Pearl and Dot. After Vic’s garage accident, Betty would come by with Vic to my little garden center on York Road. It was always such a pleasure to see them out and about with Betty doing her best to help Vic along. They were just the sweetest couple ever. Betty, please except our sincerest condolences to you and the Cant family. Vic will certainly be missed by everyone who knew him. sending love and hugs to you. Rest peacefully Vic. xox

With apologies this just came to my attention now. Deepest sympathy Vicki, to your entire family and especially your Mom. Your Dad was a lovely person to know so many years ago. Ironic he was Mom’s letter carrier, and you were mine. Yellow day lilies from him still grow in Mother’s yard, and I have often thought of him when they bloom. May he rest in the peace he so richly deserves.

I first met the CANT family in 1982 when I was Jody’s SCUBA buddy. We have be partners for the past 4 years. Jody enjoyed pigeon racing, hunting and all the things Vic did. Vic was a wonderful friend, role model and pops to Jody and his siblings
Jody and his sister Vicky visited their parents daily until recently when they got some much needed March of Dimes support. Vic had a medical set back years ago. He was unfortunately relegated to a wheelchair. Jody shared hunting, Argo and off road adventures with Vic as they sat watching his iPad. They enjoyed ice cream at Mc Donald’s, walks in the park, drives with Milo and some of the smaller things as he grew weaker.
Vicky toted the lionesses share, for Vic and doing the hard stuff no daughter aspires to do. I am not sure I could have done for my own father what Vicky and Jody managed to do!
I hope Vic is in a better place now as he had a fulfilling life surrounded by friends and family as he was a great husband and father!

Betty, I don’t know what to say. Vic was a legend, and I will always cherish my time, and Maeve and Brady’s time with Pop. I’ll never forget the twinkle in his eye, and the way he wore his heart on his sleeve. He was one of the best.
