I knew Valerie growing up in Toronto from church, she was in our Stake and attended our ward many times. Valerie attended many youth activities: Dances, trips, events etc. She had a beautiful smile and those bright blue eyes are so memorable. She always exuded the most excitement and energy. She loved and spoke often to my mother, and my mother had a soft place for her in her heart. She was uplifting and bright. My condolences to the family with love for her in my thoughts and heart. I am sincerely sorry for your loss.

My sincere condolences to Valerie’s family and loved ones. I met Valerie many years ago when we were both teenagers and from then on we became really good friends building memories that I will always remember. We lost touch over time and haven’t seen each other in years but I was saddened to hear of her passing. RIP Valerie as you are no longer suffering and are with loved ones who have previously gone home before you..

There are no words to fully express how deeply saddened by Valerie’s passing. She was a light in a darkened room. Her laughter was infectious and warmed your heart and soul. I cherished her. Some of the best days I had during the past 14 years were because of our hours long talks, and plots. Rest In Peace Valerie. You will be missed beyond words.

My dearest, best friend for close to 45 years. You couldn’t have been more “family” unless we shared blood. I know how much you suffered but I never dreamed you would be gone any time soon. I thank God that you are no longer suffering. You were not going to get better. You are free from the body that betrayed you. My deepest condolences to Shawna, Jeffrey, Brenda, Wendy, Bruce. Thank you to Mike for always making sure she was taken care of. Thank you to her friends who took such loving care of her in her final days. I know you were greeted by your Dad and loved ones who had gone before. I love you and I will miss you always until we meet again.

All my thoughts and prayers are with you. One never quite understands why these things happen as they do, but time has made me realizet that all is God’s plan and we can only learn to accept that plan. We will all see one another again.

I am in shock to see this. Can’t express how much loved and cared did I felt during my tenure of working alongside her. She was such down to earth and kind person. I will miss her laughs. I will miss you Valerie.

When Delma and I were on our mission in 1993-94 in Toronto First Ward, we worked quite closely with Valerie and Mike to increase their level of activity. I agree whole-heartedly about the comment of her good humor, and we thoroughly enjoyed working with her.

Valerie:
Your laughter is something I will never forget! Your eyes were as blue as the skies and as warm as the ocean blue. Your love of your children will be for eternity. You were the life of the party and the spark that excited us all. Your kindness and love reached so many of your friends and family. May you be free now to watch over us all and smile down upon us all. You will be the brightest star in the heavens. You will be greatly missed and your love lives on in your beautiful children. We will all look out for them and be there for them. Miss you Val and we know you are soaring on the wings of an Angel.

I knew Valerie for so many years and over the years we had private contact via Messengerand Facebook , Instagram and wrote many times about so many things, most of all about our music and musicians like George Michael, Adam Lambert, Garth Brooks and our fur babies…
she is now with her dad, and her beloved Dexter … both are taking good care of her…
this world has lost a beautiful soul…but Valerie lives on in our heart… ♥
good bye Valerie..
I am so very sad and my thoughts and sympathy are with her wonderful family, who were the world for Valerie …

Valerie was a memorable person – we knew each other better as kids but recently reconnected via social media. I had mentioned to her that I always remembered her Mom’s great laugh and Valerie had the same laugh….very contagious!
Love to all the family at this very sad time.

Dear family of Val, I have know Val since we were teenagers. We met at church. I have always loved Val’s feisty and forthright spirit and I was so saddened and shocked to hear of her sudden passing. Val and I were in touch also a few years back and we communicated back and forth. I feel that my life has been greatly blessed by knowing and having her as a friend. A light has gone now that she has passed. She will be so greatly, greatly missed. I pray that you – her family – will be comforted and watched over at this time. May angels lift your burden and be with you at this difficult time.

P.S. She had the most beautiful eyes.

Dearest Val, I was shocked to read of your sudden passing. I will never forget the kindness you showed towards me, a stranger, one New Years Eve night back in the late 1990’s, the night I sat and contemplated ending my life but you befriended and told me I would always have a friend in you. In July 2008 you managed to persuade me to travel to Toronto to see George perform but bonus I got to finally meet you in person. I will never forget the massive hug I got from you the second the lift (elevator) doors opened. It was a crazy brief whirlwind trip, spending less than 48 hours in your company, but the fun we had could have filled a lifetime. If there is a light in your sudden passing, it is that you are now at long last out of pain and reunited with your beloved Dad and with Dexter. My sincerest condolences to your family who I knew meant the entire world to you. Sleep well my friend, your friendship meant the absolute world to me. In the words of George, “You Have Been Loved” RIP Val xoxo

Valerie. I will never be able to fully forgive myself for not being there for you during the last couple of years, although, you were frequently in my thoughts. I had hoped that this mysterious illness had vanished as quickly as it appeared. I have so many photos of us to remember all the amazing times we had from soap star personal appearances to Nashville in the 90s, where we nicknamed ourselves Thelma and Louise, to Garth Brooks (more than once) and most recently, Kate Linders Tea. You are now free from pain. Thank you for all the good times, I will never forget them.
