Obituary of Tom Phelps

Tom "Tommy T" Phelps

Passed away after an intense struggle with cancer on May 1, 2023. He found peace as he was surrounded by his family and friends. Tom was the father of Sarah (Andrew) Reichel, the son of Bonnie and Don Phelps, and brother of Shawn Phelps. He will be forever loved by his grandchildren Ashton, Rilynn, and Mia. Tom will also be fondly remembered by his cousins, nieces, nephews, and childhood lifelong friends. He is now reunited with his grandparents and his Uncle Bob.

Tom was born on September 3, 1962, in what he called, the beautiful city of Winnipeg. He will always be remembered as "the man with the plan" and was always keeping himself busy, which made him a natural leader and an entrepreneur. Tom could fix or build anything, whether it was a car or house…whether he knew how to do it or not. He found the greatest enjoyment shopping at garage sales and he loved camping with his family. Tom was most proud that he raised his amazing daughter and his grandson, Ashton, and he cherished the bond that they shared.

Our family is heartbroken to have lost Tom, but we are grateful for the life he lived. We are inspired that he thrived his way and on his own terms. A special thank you to all his friends and family for surrounding him with so much love and support.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements are entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. A celebration of life will be planned in the near future and details will be announced by the family. As an expression of sympathy, a kind gesture would be appreciated.

Tom will be deeply missed but will live on in the hearts and memories of those who knew and loved him.
