Obituary of Theresa Virginia Boyd (nee Burke)

It is with a heavy heart, that we announce the passing of our Mother, Theresa Virginia Boyd (nee Burke) in her 92nd year. Welcomed with open arms by her husband Donald Boyd (2009). The last living member of her family, she was predeceased by her mother (Laura) and her father (William) and 7 siblings, (2 brothers and 5 sisters). Mom was born in a harbour town in Prince Edward Island. She moved to Ontario in 1948. She leaves behind 4 children, John, Norma, Linda and Dale. Heartbroken by the loss of their Grandma, are her adored grandchildren, Brad Moscato (Julie), Jennifer Deprez (Michael), Dawna Perry (Ryan) David Moscato (Shelley), Lindsay Burns (Caleb). She found great joy in her great-grandchildren, Lauren, Matthew, Christian, Anna, Evan, Madison, Rylie, Deacon and Miles.

Mom was a member of the Niagara branch of the Movie Camera Club in the mid 1960s, where she participated in the creation of amateur movie making. In addition, she studied public speaking and short story writing. Mom was a member of Wellspring Community Church in Welland for many years. She will always be remembered for her loving and compassionate nature. Her family came first and she was most content in our presence. She filled our home with music, and nostalgic movies, and the sweet fragrance of home-made cinnamon buns and a hot pot of tea was always brewing.

Sincere appreciation to the loving staff of Niagara Long Term Care, in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Special thanks to Tammy, Haley, Tanya, Dr. Brunner, NP Vesna Dokmanovic and Dr. Ali who took care of her for many years.

The legacy she leaves us is that of LOVE and compassion.

In keeping with Theresa’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A private interment will take place at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, donations to communitycrew.ca or wellspringchurch.ca would be appreciated by the family.
