Obituary of Susan Alice Roy
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Susan Alice Roy announces her peaceful passing on Monday, July 6, 2026, in Port Colborne, at the age of 64.Sue was the devoted and beloved wife of Normand Roy for 44 years. Loving mother of Shane Roy. The best bonus mom to Erin Roy and Michelle (Owen) Miller. Proud Mémère of Hailee Danyliw, Breanna Stephen, Connor Melitzer (Emilee Schinkle), Sean Melitzer, Sarah McBride, Liam Miller, Tristan Miller, Shane Roy Junior, Maddi Miller, And 4 great grandchildren. She was the cherished sister of Charlotte (Marty) Gore, aunt of Melanie Ripa (Roger) and Valery Gore (Darryl), and great-aunt of Elliott Ripa. Sue was predeceased by her parents, Charles King and Shirley King (née Winger).
Sue will be remembered for her outgoing spirit, dependable nature, and kind heart. She had a wonderful sense of humour and an infectious personality that made it easy for others to feel at ease in her company. She found great joy tending to her small gardens and spent many quiet hours crocheting beautiful creations, each made with love and care.
A hardworking and dedicated employee, Sue devoted 25 plus years to Sobeys, where she formed lasting friendships with her coworkers, who became like a second family. Her strong work ethic, willingness to help others, and friendly smile earned the respect and admiration of everyone who had the pleasure of working alongside her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Scher and the nurses and support staff who provided Sue with exceptional compassion and care the last week, at the Niagara Health Port Colborne Palliative Care Unit. Your kindness and dedication brought comfort to Sue and her loved ones during a difficult time.
In keeping with Sue's wishes, cremation has taken place.
If desired, memorial donations in Sue's memory may be made to Wellspring Cancer Support and would be sincerely appreciated by her family.
Sue's warmth, strength, and unwavering love for those closest to her will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
