Obituary of Steven Benson Pelton
With heavy hearts, we sadly announce the untimely passing of Steve, on November 7, 2025 at the age of 68, with his family by his side. Steve was married to the love of his life, Sandra (née McKay) for 43 years. Cherished father of Curtis (Victoria) and Grace (Troy). Treasured grandfather "Poppy" to Jasper and Lucy. Loving son to Edith and Ben. Dear brother of Susanne (Jim), Christine (Jim), Keith and Melanie. Brother-in-law of Sally (Chris), Robert (Charlene), Joe (Theresa), Carol, Francie and Tracey (Ted). Steve will be fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and co-workers. He was predeceased by his father Ben Pelton, in-laws Joe and Frances McKay, Dale, Brian and Brenda.Steve resided in Black Creek, in his dream home, with his wife Sandra and four-legged companion Duchess. A man of many facets, Steve could often be found working around the house, enjoying retirement or cruising around in his ragtop. In accordance with Steve's wishes, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers or donations, we ask you to take that Sunday drive. Plan your family vacation. Have just one more beer. You can't take it with you.

Sandra and Family, I only found out today about your devastating loss. My heart weeps for you and yours. Words can rarely capture the impact of losing a husband, father, brother, uncle, Poppy, son and friend. May you continue to be surrounded by those who truly understand and care as you travel the path of grief. Here if you need a hug or a shoulder to cry on. Dear Sandra and family, Sending you our condolences during this difficult time. I remember Steven, he was always smiling when he was young. He went from being the stock boy at the local Chippawa market to having a very important job at E.S. Fox where they loved him almost as much as Sandra, his beautiful wife. We will go for that Sunday drive but only after cleaning and caring for our car as Ben taught Steven to do and love.
