Obituary of Steve Buksa

Passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on January 11, 2024 at the age of 74. Steve was the loving spouse of Nancy for 45 years. Devoted father and hero to his children, the late Stephen Buksa, Jenny Buksa (Troy Green), Cory Buksa, and Nadine Buksa. Proud Papa to Kaitlyn, Melanie, Matthew, the late Clara, Nathan, and Riley, and great-grandfather to Fisher. Steve will be lovingly remembered by his siblings Bev (Thomas Slaven), Gwen Cerrato and Joanne Lauzon. Cherished uncle to his niece Cherisse. Steve will also be missed by his beloved canine companion, Hannah, who was his constant shadow, best friend and "other wife."

Steve served as a foreman for 37 years at Thomas Salmon Manufacturing. Later in life, he continued to channel his skills and passion into helping others as a dedicated fixer-upper and Mr. Handyman. He was always ready to extend his assistance or a helping hand to others in need. Steve found joy in playing the guitar and immersing himself in the world of music. He also had a special talent for fixing up cars. Steve had a wonderful sense of humour, loved to tell jokes and relished in making people laugh.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the palliative care provided by ParaMed and Dr. Ryan Hogg. Special thanks go to Nurse Geneva for her unwavering guidance and compassion during Steve's final days.

In accordance with Steve's wishes, cremation has taken place. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

I will always remember my grandpas moments when we was here. He played me guitar all the time like how far is heaven by kitty wells and many more.

we werent close to Steve as our neighbour but appreciated his hard work around the buildings. also when we ran into him, his hellos and waves on lonely days for us were helpful. we’ll be praying for him and his family and friends. John 14:1-3 New King James Version (NKJV)
In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

Steve was one of a kind. Full of wisdom and a great brother in law. Always told you how it was in a gentle way. He fixed so many things for me and gave wise advice. I will forever miss him. His jokes made me laugh until no sound came out. I will cherish the memory of you showing me how to work a weed wacker. Helping me with math when I was a kid so I could go on a school trip. Negan (cherisse’s) dog loved you. He would almost rip my arm off to go see you when you were outside at the picnic table. Rest in peace. Thanks for the great jokes. And your help in manyways.
