The world has lost a great man and the Tanner’s a great Christian man, husband, father and grandfather. Stephen affected me with his love, patience and common sense. I consider myself lucky to be able to call him my friend. I KNOW we will meet again to laugh and play cards together again.

Love you brother. and my condolences to all saddened by his lost

My sincerest condolences to the whole Tanner family. Stevey T was one of the most interesting people I got to know in my youth. He always had some good advice, a different perspective or a dad joke to make you laugh. I cherished those late night chats, his quick wit and his ability to make you feel welcomed in his home. He taught me fishing tricks I’ve passed along to my kids and he always had a smile to brighten your day. Rest in Peace my friend you will not be forgotten.

Stephan and I have known each other for 46 years. Even though I was his sister-in-law Stephan was a friend. I remember the farm house he rented with his brother. It was such fun cleaning it up for moving in. Going camping was always an adventure. Country rides were all the more special. He was a rock. He was a constant presence in everyone’s lives that he knew. He was there for you. When, through sheer determination, bolstered by his wife Debbie’s strong spirit, made it through a major accident he knew whom he loved and had to thank for the years extra years he had. A large piece is gone from my life and I miss him dearly. A man of honour and love. He and his wife are a true love story that I count it an honour to be a part of. He is just a thought away. Love you all!

“I’m never sure what to say in the face of such a difficult loss. What I do know is Stephen and I were friends and I take comfort knowing that we never lose the people we love, they continue to be part of every act, thought and decision we make. I feel lucky that I got to know Stephen. I share in your sadness.”
