Obituary of Siro Manni
Our family is sad to announce that our patriarch, beloved husband, father and Nonno passed away peacefully, on Friday, May 24, 2024. He was 88 years old and after a full life he will be remembered as a strong, passionate, caring and hardworking man. Siro will be forever loved by his wife of 62 years Zita. Cherished Dad of the late Valli (Tim) McDougall, Siro Manni, Nina (Brent) McDevitt. Proud Nonno of Luke, Ben and Samuel , great-grandfather of Evelyn and Lyla and step grandfather to Rowan and Liam. Siro was a dear brother of Nini, Severino, Norma, Anna Maria, Aide, brother-in-law of Bianca, Frank, the late Johnny. He will be fondly remembered and missed by his extended family.Siro was a man of great mental and physical strength throughout his life, he took pride in the work that he did as the owner of the family business, Polman Cabinets in Niagara Falls for over 35 years. He had a passion for detail as a craftsman, and an avid outdoorsman. He had a knack for always being on time. You could always count on his sense of humor to brighten your day and was a man you could always rely on for support without question and wouldn’t ask for anything in return. He provided a community for his friends from his home country of Italy, who he adopted as his new family. He was an active member of the Italo Canadian Centennial Club where he helped bring funding to the community with fundraisers through their supportive efforts. Occasionally you would find him playing cards at the local Italian Club with his friends.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation at Essentials Cremation and Burial Services, 4300 Drummond Road, Niagara Falls on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, from 7pm to 9pm. Prayers will be said at 8pm. Cremation will follow. As an expression of sympathy, to honour Siro’s love of nature, we would like to encourage you to spend some time outside, in your garden or plant a flower or a tree in memory of him. The Heart and Stroke Foundation and the Canadian Cancer Society would also appreciate any monetary donations of your choosing. To the Manni family……… I have many good memories of Siro spent around your kitchen table and living room. He always had a story…….and liked to share a glass of vino.
I remember when he arrived from Italy I think I was 5-6 and how hard he worked in his cabinet business. He had a good reputation for making a quality product!
You can never be prepared for the loss of a loved one. Peace be with you.
To all of you I’m so sorry to hear this news. Siro inspired me to work hard and play harder in the outdoors. The lessons that he taught me about fishing and hunting in the outdoors and the willingness to teach me what it takes to be successful in the outdoors and work I’m completely grateful. I’m so sorry to hear this news. I knew him as Valli’s dad but he had many friends and family that cared. I wish you all comfort and peace as you go through the next few days and weeks. My sincere condolences. RIP Siro.
