Obituary of Simon Howcroft
Simon Howcroft passed away suddenly at home on June 17, 2021, at the age of 61. Loving husband to Cindy Howcroft, and father of Jeremy (Jenny) Howcroft and Sarah (Jordan) Rowe. Cherished Papa to Richard Howcroft, Ellie Rowe, and Jack Rowe. Missed by his mother, Sheila Howcroft, and his siblings, Michelle (Randy) Lafontaine, Stephanie Howcroft, Nigel (Mary) Howcroft, Andrew (Nicolina) Howcroft, Tim Howcroft, Jonathan (Cathy) Howcroft, Doug (Trudy) Warren, and Howard Warren. Predeceased by his father, C. Michael Howcroft. He is also missed by his nieces, nephews, extended family and countless others whose lives he touched.Simon had a generous and kind soul. He shared his love with family and friends, his time with those he could help, and his beer with anyone who came to visit. He was always willing to lend a hand to those needing help whether it was shoveling snow for the neighbours, hanging Christmas lights at Jeremy’s house, or, just recently, preparing the nursery for Jack’s arrival. When not helping others, his favourite way to spend an evening was with his brothers; talking and drinking beer. Simon has touched so many lives. We hope that even though we have lost a wonderful man that your memories of him will live on.
Essentials Cremation and Burial Services has been entrusted with arrangements (905-354-2133). A celebration of life will take place at a later date. He spent 25 years being a father figure to those who needed him as a Big Brother. Memorial donations made to the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Canada would be appreciated by the family. We only had the pleasure of meeting Simon on a couple of occasions, but by all accounts he was a remarkable, kind-hearted man. I know Josh and Emily were very fond of him. Our sincere condolences to the whole Howcroft family.

The Niagara-on-the-Lake Pickleball Club is very saddened to hear of Simon’s passing. He is so fondly remembered by the PB members as a great fun guy to play with and just the nicest guy to have around. He will be so missed by the members of our club. Simon was one of the most caring, funny and genuine people I have ever met. He always took the time to reach out to me and my family. He was a true role model. We will miss him deeply as I am sure so many others will who were touched by him. I wish I could have one more beer with him and tell him how much he meant to our family. My most sincere condolences.
