Shirley Ann Tees (Morrison)
1937-2023
Obituary of Shirley Ann Tees (Morrison)
Surrounded by love, Shirley died at the Willowgrove Long Term Care Home in Ancaster on Monday, December 18, 2023, at the age of 86. Her final morning was gentle and her passing cradled in God’s love.Shirley was the cherished mother of Mike (Irina), Bob (Leanne) and lovingly remembered daughter Nancy, who passed away in 2019. She received great joy being a grandmother to Sofia, Karis, Alanna, Laura, Heather, and Mina, and her great-grandson Everett. Shirley is remembered in love by her brother Art (Lee), and she will be remembered with great fondness by her nephews, nieces, extended family, and friends. She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Frank, her sister Twylah, and brother Dick. We also think of the passing this year of her dear friends Karen Benson and Henry Kuik.
A person of deep faith, Shirley was a dedicated member of Fort Erie First Baptist Church since 1978. She played an integral role in the church community, leaving a legacy of beautiful church banners and memories of many celebrations she cared for when leading the social committee. She was a founding member of the Matthew House Refugee Ministry in Fort Erie. Shirley was well known throughout the Fort Erie community as a brilliant florist, as she owned and operated Shirley Ann's Flowers and Gifts for many years. She loved to laugh with friends and family and had a talent for cooking and sewing.
Family extends heartfelt gratitude to everyone who gave their time to support Shirley throughout the years, and especially the last difficult stretch. Special thanks are extended to the staff at Willowgrove Long Term Care, the First Baptist Church community, and the Douglas Memorial Hospital Complex Continuing Care Unit.
In accordance with Shirley’s wishes, cremation has taken place and arrangements have been entrusted with Essentials Cremation and Burial Services. A memorial celebrating Shirley’s life will be held on Friday, December 22, 2023, at First Baptist Church, 165 Bertie Street, Fort Erie at 10:30am with a luncheon to follow. A private family interment will be held in the spring, in Peterborough, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved Frank. The family kindly requests donations to be made in Shirley's memory to the Matthew House Refugee Ministry. “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.” (Psalm 4:8)

Just to let you know how you are all in my thoughts and prayers at this time. Shirley was such a good friend to me as we worked together on so many projects.
We would just finish one project and she was already planning what we were going to do next year.
Michael, Bob and all Shirley’s family, so sorry for your loss. It has been many years since we have seen Shirley, and her amazing smile, but it was nice to reconnect with her a couple of years ago when I was researching the Tees family. Please let us know when the internment is in Peterborough.
Take care . . . Mike & Jane Doris
Dearest Grandma,
I love you and miss you.
Thank you for everything.
The dresses, the memories, the love for finding good deals when shopping (that i used to help my customers to this day)
Growing up you were a little girl’s best friend and I loved sleeping over at your house.
Oh and just remember the excitement when we heard Fort Erie was getting a walmart!
So many memories that will all come back to me in time.
Love you forever.
Your
Heather Ann Kuik
